Washingborough Hall

Hi everyone!

Today's post is the photographs from a shoot I went on today at Washingborough Hall Hotel for, you guessed it, my documentary project!

Yesterday I made a lovely long list of things I have to do for my University work, from work for this project (including the list of 20 other shoots I have to do for this project) to writing my dissertation proposal and work for my experimental project. This list isn't scary as it would normally be, and it is all very achievable!

It felt great to be able to tick off one item from my list - this shoot!

I really feel as if this documentary project is coming together, and it is by far my favourite project that I have done so far at University. It is so close to what I want to do when I leave, so it is fun to have the time to photograph a lot of the elements from an industry that I love, and want to work within.

I just want to say thank you to Lucy from Washingborough Hall Hotel for letting me photograph your beautiful hotel as part of my project! I hope to photograph a wedding here some day!

So this is my shoot for this week, I'm so glad to having kept the promise to myself to do at least one shoot a week. I'm hoping once this project is over I will be able to do more portrait orientated shoots, as that is where my passion is!

If you haven't seen my previous post, please check it out. If you want a Free Photosoot and you live in Norwich or Lincoln, please get it touch! All you have to do is let me feature you in my documentary project.

Free Photoshoot?

Hi everyone!

Do you live in Norwich or Lincoln? Would you like a free photoshoot with me? Then get in touch!

(That sounds like such a terrible advert!)

But seriously, if you have been reading my blog you would have seen the post I have put up about my documentary project - where I am documenting each element that goes into making a wedding. From the flowers, ring shopping, dress fittings, ceremony spaces etc the list is pretty much endless!

However what I am missing from my photographs are PEOPLE! I am looking for couples to photograph in relation to this project, so I am probably going to stage ring shopping, but I also want couples who are DIY-ing their decorations, or invitations, or who are having a stag/hen party!

In return for letting me photograph you for my project I am offering a free pre-wedding/engagement style shoot - and even if you aren't getting married you can still help! As long as you're willing to pose for me for my project, I am offering a couples photoshoot - so you can have some nice photographs of you both together!

I am in Lincoln till the middle of next week, when I will be returning home to Norwich for around two weeks. So if you live in either place please do get in touch!

Thank you!

See you next shoot (Which once again will be for this project!)

Script This Photographs

Hey!

After a really cool (literally and metaphorically) day at XChurch, where we played hide and seek, bulldog, music, made poetry, took photographs and played an organ, I have finished the photographs of Script This from last night!

It was so good to use the 5D mkii for this, because the last Script This I used my camera, Nikon D90, but I had so much more scope with the ISO on the 5D. Starting to dream about upgrading my camera now.

Maybe not to the 5D (although the mkiii looks amazing) but I feel as if I am outgrowing my own camera now.

So this is my shoot for this week, but hopefully I will have some of my work for the experimental module up soon! Although I feel as if I need to be at home in order to make the most of that project, as all my childhood photographs are there, which I need to give a better range for my project!

So hopefully I will have two shoots up this week! So productive, woo!

Script This and My Productive Week

I have just finished photographing at Script This, an event held once every two months or so at the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre (LPAC) where script writers submit a 10 minute section of their play for a reading!

This is the second one I have photographed and I really love hearing the new scripts. Plus the actors have very emoted faces which are so great to photograph.

The photographs from that will be up later this week, along side work I make tomorrow at XChurch, an exhibition space and a place to make work!

So lots of new work up this week!

I feel productive

Another Wedding Fayre

Hey everyone,

So here is my shoot for this week - photographs for Barbarellas at the Bailgate Wedding Fayre here in Lincoln.

Dave, the photography technician for my degree course and the man who knows absolutely everything about photography and cameras (Hi Dave!) put me in contact with Hayley who is the owner of Barbarellas, and therefore meant I could photograph behind the scenes of the bridal fashion show that was taking place at the wedding fayre.

I can tell you now how very frantic it was. However Hayley and her girls were amazing, and I was very impressed with how quickly they could create a beautiful hair style! (Something I really wish I was able to do!)

These photographs are going to be great for my documentary project, based on each element that goes into making/creating a wedding. Make-up and hair done - CHECK

However my list of to-do's is so long! So if you know anyone that is getting married and would love to help me on this project please get in touch! I would love to photograph dress fittings, DIY wedding decoration making, ring shopping and anything else you can think of!

So that is my shoot of the week! The one for next week will probably be a combination of a photoshoot I am going to tomorrow, which is again for the documentary project, and is of a cake tasting session (yum!) and some work for my experimental project, which I am finally starting to work on properly.

See you next shoot!

Vote for Moll-E

Hi everyone!

I've had a super productive day - photographing at the Bailgate Wedding Fair here in Lincoln, for Barbarellas Hair Boutique. I have yet to download the photographs to my computer, but once I have looked through them I'll post some on here and my Facebook page!

But what I want to talk about right now is Molly Smith! She is running for VP Welfare & Community in the SU elections of the University of Lincoln.

Ferenc and I made a video for her, which can be found here! I'm happy with how it turned out, and it was so difficult to cut it down as Molly said so many great things. We are going to be making shorter video clips of main points from her campaign, and those will probably be uploaded today too.

So check out that video, it really would be appreciated. And if you are a member of the University of Lincoln SU please vote Molly number one for VP Welfare & Community

Thank you,

Georgia

Busy Week!

Hi guys,

Such a busy week so far! Today I filmed a promotional video for someone who is running for Vice President in Welfare and Community within my uni's SU. It was really nice to make a film again - and right now I am waiting for the files from the 5D to convert.

My boyfriend (Ferenc) and I worked on it together, almost in preparation for a short film we will be making over the summer. He was my director, and a very good one too!

That's us on a snowy day!

This Sunday I am, once again, going to a wedding fayre! I'm looking forward to it, as again it is another opportunity to network with brides but also other venders who are within the sector I want to work in. I will post the photographs up probably on Sunday, and that will be my shoot for this week. But really I will have completed two shoots this week, the video I am making and the shoot on Sunday. Go productive me!
